Hi,
A few days ago I created a custom field in jira and set the type to Text Field (multi-line)
Today I need to create another custom field as the same type for a Release Notes section. However, when I try to find the text field multi line option as a field type, I can't see it.
Workflow:
Project Settings -> Issues -> Fields -> Actions -> Edit Fields -> Custom Fields -> Create Custom Field -> Set view to 'All' -> Unable to locate Text Field (multi line)
I have already configured this once for Acceptance Criteria so I am unsure why I can't add another? Is it because you can only have 1 multi line text field in Jira Cloud? Thanks
Pic 1 shows no text field multi line option
Pic 2 shows the text field multi line custom field I created a few days ago
Hey Harley - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Go to Settings > Issues > Custom Fields
You should be able to create the field there.
Hey John. Thank you.
Is that not the same as the workflow I've listed above, where it's missing from?
Thanks

Hi John,
Thanks for the quick reply. I have tried this workflow and it's still missing:

thanks for this, For some reason when I click that on my Jira config the field still appears as text multi line. Any ideas ?

Yes, that's one of those things where part of Jira has not caught up with the other changes that have been made. If you create a new custom field, you would select Paragraph, but then it will show in the list as Text (multi-line).

and also I can't add rich text to it i.e. URLs etc so it really gives me just a plain text field?

What does that mean sorry ? I am selecting the paragraph (supports rich text) and instead I am getting a text field that does not allow rich text, so I think there is an issue there?

Would I lose any data if I do this for an existing field?
