I'm setting up Jira Github integration and am unable to get PR events to trigger Jira automations.
Creating a branch in Github does trigger the relevant automation rules so I know the integration is somewhat set up correctly.
I've ensured the issue key is in the PR title and commits, and even tried in the PR description.
I did notice that In the work item Development section, it recognises commits and branches pushed but will not recognise pull requests. I assume this is related to the lack of automation triggering.
What else could I try?
Thanks
I returned to trying to get this working today.
Perhaps there is some kind of background setup delay because it appeared to start picking up Github info from the day after I posted (April 9).
I found that it did pick up some of the Github PRs but not all. An older merged PR is stuck showing in the Jira PR list with status 'Open'. I can't see a way to remove it.
I just opened a new PR and it did not show in the Development > PR list. However, when I merged it, the merge commit was shown, but not the PR. It also updated the branch list to remove the merged branch.
Even thought it received the merge notification, the Jira automation did not fire to transition the ticket status. The only automation trigger that seems to work is 'branch created'.
Linked commits seem to work OK.
It shows linked builds (Github Actions CI) when they are running but when I reloaded the page after the build finished, they no longer show.
So it seems like the integration partially works but currently it is unusable.
It would be great if someone from Atlassian could specify what to expect from this integration.
