User should not be able to change status from 'Completed' to 'Closed'

Crisan Hristea Carolina Sarah June 13, 2020

Hello,

I need to configure a workflow where last status that should be applied by user is 'Completed' - from this status it is possible to reopen the issue in case if something extra is needed. There are maximum 10 days to be able to reopen the issue. After this time, status will be automatically changed using automation from ' Completed ' to ' Done '.

The issue is that users are allowed to change status by themselves from 'Completed' to 'Done' . They shouldn't be able to do this . Should be possible only by applying automation

Can someone advise me how can I implement this ?

Thank you in advance,

Sarah H.

Hello @Crisan Hristea Carolina Sarah

I was able to accomplish this by using the JSU Automation Suite for Jira
I used the "add validator to transition" to add a restriction that no one can change the status unless granted permission to.

Hopefully this helps you.
