Hi PVS - I am pretty sure this is possible using Automation For Jira, but not out of the box Jira. If you are using that add-on, I might be able to walk you through that.

Hi PVS - I am not familiar with the JSu plugin. But I think that Automation for Jira should be able to do it. If you install that and would like help, just let me know.

Sure! First, here is a link to the documentation, which I think you will find helpful.

https://docs.automationforjira.com/using-issue-fields/use-smart-values.html#what-are-smart-values

1. Click on Create Rule

2. Select Issue transitioned

3. Change the To status to Done (or whatever the status is that marks your issue as closed). Save.

4. Click on New Condition - Related Issues Condition. In that dialog box, enter the appropriate values showing how the issues are linked. Save.

5. Finally, select New action - Transition Issue. Destination is Copy from trigger issue. Save.

See if that works for you. If you run into syntax issues - check the documentation and you can contact Support for Automation for Jira.

I assume you are using an automation addon. I don’t know of a way to act on “cloned” issues. I would consider linking the cloned and operate on that. However you may need to use a custom field to qualify the IF condition so as not to do the THEN for all linked issues.
