Why can't I log time on this Jira project?

Melanie Calothi September 2, 2024

I used to use Jira service desk before where I could log time. I'm not using Jira core to manage my projects but am struggling to find a way to log time. Does this feature exist on Jira core? Screenshot 2024-09-02 at 11.27.12.png

Hi Melanie - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Does your organization use an add-on app for time logging or just the standard Jira time logging?

Check the permission scheme associated with the project to ensure that you have the Work on Issues permission.

Hi @Melanie Calothi

Also check the permission scheme on the project if there are roles or groups allowed to create worklogs and if you are member of the role or groups specified

Hi @Melanie Calothi ,

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

Check your Screen configuration and make sure that you've added the 'Time Tracking' field to the view/edit screen for this particular project and issue type - I think that might be the issue here.
