I created a custom field, added it to a screen, but unless I configure a default value or put data in the field when I create the ticket, the field doesn't display. Can someone help me so that my custom fields always show whether there's data in the field or not?

Unfortunately, the field will only be visible on the view issue screen when it has a default value or if there are any options filled out from the field.

What you see is expected behavior, Jira will not show custom fields unless they have a value.
