auto assign user to issue

Kamil Askerov April 8, 2024

Salam.

If in Jira Service Management some customer choose one of this (Platform, Database, Network.)  request types then I need auto assign the issue to user1,user2,user3 from Jira Software project. Can I make this and how?

Hi Kamil, I edited my Request Type to add the Component field as a hidden field and then set that component to a particular value.

Then I edited the component and set the specific person to the Component Lead for that Component, then set the Default assignee to the Component Lead.

So if you have three different Request Types for Platform, Database and Network, you could have a component to match those Request Types with a Component Lead to match.  Then with the Component Lead set to the Default assignee, as a new ticket is created using that Request Type, the Component gets filled in, and automatically assigned to someone.

Hope that helps.
