creating and setting a custom field in on each userpage

We have quite a large company that wants to add a custom field to their profiles in Jira. Is there a way to create a custom field and add that to all users? Maybe someone knows a useful plugin or something comparable.

Edit: I want to add fields to the users profile (where you see username, email, etc.) We need a couple of custom fields to further specify their type of work.

There is a Jira ticket for this feature, you can vote for this, and they've suggested 3 apps

you can try them if you are good to go. but yeah as @Joe Pittsaid they may be paid plugins

You're going to have to look for a plugin. Like @Sreenivasaraju P said fields are for issues. There is no provision to modify the user profile. Be careful of any free plugins. The may either go away, won't be supported in future JIRA releases, or become paid for plugins.

Custom fields are mapped to Projects and issue types and these are not mapped to Users. 

Do you want the new custom field available for projects and issue types ?  and this custom field available on all the existing screens ?
