integration of a new Issue Type with a new workflow inside a SD.

Hi All,

thank you for reading my question.

I have an issue related to the implementation of a specific scenario in JIRA Service Desk. I was not able to create a new issue type, giving it a specific workflow, and to add it inside my actual services desks workflows.

I tried to use these articles:

New issue type: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/adding-editing-and-deleting-an-issue-type-844500747.html\\

New workflow: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver072/working-with-workflows-828787890.html\\

I tried to use this article: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/How-do-I-use-a-different-workflow-on-an-issue-than-the-project/qaq-p/394295\\

Do you have any advice?

Cheers,

Luigi

Hello Luigi,

Here would be the steps to create and integrate a new issue type and a new workflow to a Service Desk project:

1 - Create a new issue type (JIRA Settings > Issues > Issue Type < Add Issue Type)

2 - Navigate to your project > Project Settings > Issue Types > Edit issue Types

3 - Drag and drop the new Created Issue type to your Project

4 - Create a new workflow (JIRA Settings > Issues > Workflows < Workflow) P.S: Since there are some required configurations (Post functions/Validators/Properties) to make a workflow to work properly, I would recommend you to not start from scratch but to copy an existing workflow and perform the customization as you want.

5 - Navigate to your project > Project Settings > Workflows > Click Add Exiting workflow

6 - Select the workflow and the issue types that should be using it

Please, let me know if the steps above help you to configure your project as you need.

If you get blocked in any step, please provide us with a screenshot describing what you were not able to do.
