is there any limitations for liinked issues being created from parent issue on filling field ?

we have a type issue type named X on filling mandatory values in Multi select filed , For each value value in Multi select filed issue type Y gets created as a linked issue in issue type X. 

This workflow was working fine all these days all of a sudden we are facing an weird issue. when options in the multi select filed has less characters it creates even 20 issues for 20 options.

Example:

1.A

2.AB

3ABC

4.ABCD

5.ABCDE

For all the above 5 options issues are created individually.

But when Options has more characters after certain limit its not creating individual issues instead it creates single issue which is wrong accoding to our flow.

Example:

1.aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

2.baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabb

3.abbabbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

4.ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

5.ajlkaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaajjjjjj

For this scenario only one issue of issue type Y is creatd.

Does any one have any idea why we are facing this weird issue?

Hello @prakashmurugesan!

Unfortunately it is hard to reason about what causes as we don't know how these issues are being created.

According to my knowledge, Jira does not allow you to create issues based on custom field value and therefore I'd assume that there's some piece of scripting that creates those issues for you. I'd start my investigation there.
