"Description" couldn't be copied to a custom multi-line text field during workflow transition

Hi everyone!

I've had a workflow transition post-function which copied "Description" field to a custom multi-line text field in order to capture it's content on a certain stage. It worked like a charm until recently: yesterday we've started getting this error message:

"Unable to copy value from field 'Description' to '(my custom field)'.

It seems that you have tried to perform an illegal workflow operation..."

Destination field is empty during transition.

I didn't change anything in my workflow. The only change took place recently was our corporate IT guys changing another workflow (not related to mine), but no changes was made to the custom field. Moreover, I've created a new multi-line text custom field to use in the transition, and returns the same error message.

The problem persists in different issues, regardless the amount of characters or any special symbols: post-function doesn't work even if we have only ~70 characters (Russian language), no hyperlinks, simple text.

Does anyone have any ideas, what could go wrong?

Hi there,

There are few ways we can troubleshoot this and check what is happening:

1. I believe the post-function is from a third party plugin, can you check if you have a valid license for the plugin and the plugin is enabled?
2. Does the post-function works on a different workflow or in a different transition?
3. Is there any error in the log files?
