I had an automation set up on a couple next-gen projects that would comment on issues in certain statuses each day if there was no time logged on the issue. I only recently noticed the these worklog reminders weren't firing off. I didn't get any notices of failures. The JQL query to grab these issues returns results that should trigger the automation.
I think the problem is the the "Actor" - "Automation app user" for some reason disappeared from my Jira Cloud's list of users. Hence, I can't grant it permission to comment on issues in any projects... Anyone seen this issue and can provide some guidance? I've tried re-installing the app to see if that helps. It didn't fix it.
Hey there Lei,
next-gen projects that would comment on issues in certain statuses
In Next-Gen the statuses are duplicated for each different projects so in the Automation UI, it's possible that it's not matching the status since the status with the same name from another project is selected (e.g. picked "Done" for Project A and not for Project B). We're aware of this issue and are looking at fixing it. For now, if you make sure that all statuses with the Duplicated names are selected, then that should be a feasible workaround.
If this still doesn't work, we might need to look into it more deeply so if you can raise a ticket at https://codebarrel.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/1 with screenshots of your rule and audit log, we should be able to help
Cheers,
Mark C
