We have recently discovered some flaky comment display behavior (a bug) when using the Threaded Comments for JIRA add-on (v1.18 on JIRA 7.0.10).
So here's the scenario:
The ticket has multiple comments, including a reply using the Threaded Comments add-on. The ticket also has comments that are older than a few months where they collapse into a clickable title bar that displays "5 older comments".
The problem we are seeing is when you click on the "5 older comments" to expand the list, the second oldest comment is missing from the display and some of the other comments are being duplicated where they display twice.
If you refresh the screen, the older comments collapse into the clickable bar again and the duplicates go away.
If you delete the replies from the comments, then all of the comments display as expected, but add a reply back to a comment, and you get the same flaky behavior again.
Getting this bug resolved in a not so distant release of the Threaded Comments for JIRA add-on would be gratefully appreciated as this is definitely a major pain point when using the add-on and replying to a comment.
Thanks in advance for your support!
ADDITIONAL INFO REGARDING THIS ISSUE:
It still appears with the Threaded Comments add-on version 1.26 and Jira Software version 7.12.3 and we found that it is occurring when you have four levels of threads or more on a single comment. It starts removing older comments with each additional threaded comment.
