Controlled Document Macro/Plug In

Our team is currently using the Controlled Document Plug-In with a Controlled Document macro. 

When assigning reviewers, I understand that this is a "one-time" approval where they can sign off on the current version of the page.

However, is there a way to push an email notification to the reviewer to sign every time the page gets updated? We have a lot of controlled documents that live in our Confluence spaces and having to manually remind our reviewer to go to the page and add a signature for approval at each update is tedious.
