Does your plugin bypass Jira's JVM when uploading to S3 bucket?

Hi,

How does your plugin get the files upto the S3 bucket?  In other words does the file go directly from the source (client machine) to the S3 bucket, or does it go from the souce (the client) to Jira, then to S3 bucket?
