Get Tempo hours for an epic for a period

Hello, Atlassian Community,

I would like to display on my epic the hours that have been booked in Tempo on the epic and any linked issues for a specified period or time. I thought about making it with a custom field that uses a script behind it. (We do have ScriptRunner installed.) I will probably want to make two of these fields: one for hours booked before this year and the other for hours booked this year up to the end of last month. (I am not really interested in what has been booked this month as it is never complete until the period is closed in the second week of the following month.)

Anybody have any ideas on how to do that? Even just how to get Tempo data via a Grouvy script would be a great help in the right direction.
