How do I automate copying of fields from parent to child when child is created in JIRA?

I have the same fields and screens being used for all parent and child issue types.

When a person generates a new child issue type, I want all or a selected set of fields to be copied. 

I have too many fields to actually select via the Automation action "Edit Issue"?

Is there an easier way of doing this?

Can you clarify what you mean by:
