How to transition an issue to the next step in the workflow using Asset Tracker for Jira?

Hello,

I am using Jira Server with the Asset Tracker from Spartez.

I am trying to implement a system in which my front desk can create an asset using Asset Tracker, and generating a QR Code and a corresponding JIRA issue in a project. This issue automatically links to the Asset, so this works fine. 

Also I was able to use the mobile Label Scanner APP they provide, and set a date field to today's value, change the Assignee for the Asset and all other default functions seem to work as intended. 

I want to know if it's possible that when the QR code is scanned again, to PROGRESS THE ISSUE tied to the asset scanned to the next step in the workflow, and also ASSIGN THE ISSUE to the person scanning the code, as well as setting the date for CHECK-IN.

The same operation will need to be preformed upon CHECKING-out the Asset, the issue needs to transition to the next step in the workflow,set the check-out date in the issue and the asset and also set the Asset Assignee to null. 

I have been trying for several days but my knowledge with coding is limited and my company being kinda small wanted this system to work so bad, as it seemed a perfect way to keep track of every piece of equipment that comes in for service. I kinda want this to work too, scanning a PCB with your phone and knowing where is comes from sounds like a dream come true :)

Considering this is the main issue we decided to use JIRA with Asset Tracker, it is understandable people around me are getting a little frustrated, but that's OK, it keeps them on their toes :)

I may not be the best person to answer this question, however, it looks like what you are trying to achieve is explained in the below documentation pages from the add-on vendor:

In case you need further help to implement this, you might want to get in touch with the add-on vendor by using one of the below resources:

• Submit a support request

Hey, thanks for your answer.

I had an online meeting with the guys at Spartez, and apparently there is no buit in way to change the issue states or asigned person. 

The way i will go is building a custom mobile app that will work as a bridge between the 2 APIs. 

What you are mentioning is regarding the asset itself, and i am trying to modify the JIRA issue associated to the asset.
