Insight to LDAP - map data locator

I am trying to import users from LDAP and I am not even getting to the sync part.  I am not able to map the data locator to the insight attribute. Keep getting error "The call to the Jira server did not complete within the timeout period. We are unsure of the result of this operation."

Has anyone seen this same issue?
