JIRA Server 7.5.1
JEMH 2.3.12
PROBLEM
I have created a profile group containing three profiles, and each profile is using a different catch email address. The default profile is successfully checking the catch email mailbox and generating new issues based on keywords, and that is awesome.
What's not so awesome are the other two profiles. Neither of them have ever generated an issue from their catch emails, nor does anything ever show up when I monitor inbound mail from the auditing screen.
I did find out that both were using distribution groups with no associated mailbox, so I switched the catch email on both to be my own mailbox (which is a member of those distro lists). However, still no new tickets being generated when email comes through.
I know the profile is correct because I can send a test case message and it does successfully create the issue with proper formatting and fields filled out, but my understanding is that it isn't truly looking in the mailbox (and the atlassian-jira-incoming-mail.log appears to confirm that).
Why does JEMH not look in the catch email box for the two non-default profiles?
Hi Michael,
When using the Test Case feature, make sure that the test case you are running is set to be sent to the profile groups "default profile", otherwise it will not be a proper test of the profile group.
Similarly, the mail handler should be linked to the profile group as per the instructions detailed here: https://thepluginpeople.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JEMH/pages/92471337/Use+Profile+Groups
Please consider raising a support request on our Jira site: https://thepluginpeople.atlassian.net/browse/SUPPORT. When doing so, please attach the exported profile group file (this is obtained by clicking the "export group" icon on the group default profile on the Profiles screen).
Mike
Thanks for the pointers Mike. Test cases that go to the default profile appear to work fine as well, and as noted that profile is working great.
I have also confirmed my profile group is set up per instructions. (see attached image)
I should also point out that I have a separate, individual profile configured for one of our business groups that has been doing wonders for them, so I know that at a basic level JEMH works well.
I think I will do as you suggest and open a support request. Thanks again!
