Jira - Version report vs Release burndown report

Hi, 

on Scrum Boards in Jira, there is 2 reports to visualize progress against a release/version.

However:

1) Version Report - why is it a burnup, against common agile practices (should be a burndown) ?

2) Release Burndown - why the visualization is that different from 1) ? When you have a lot of teams, thus sprints, involved in a version/release, this type of report/visualization isn't helpful
