Is there a way to prevent a task from being closed if there's any unchecked items on a checklist?

You could also give a try to my app Multiple Checklists for Jira. Blocking transitions feature, such as preventing a task from being closed, is described here.

As already mentioned the Checklist Pro and Checklist Free allow to block transition if the checklist is not completed.
