Hi,

Has anyone been able to exclude a particular user from receiving notifications? The user needs to have a valid email address because they are submitting tickets via email.

Thanks,

Debbie

Hi Debbie,

Not really, with the default mail handler the solution would lie outside, either an addressee rewrite in the mailserver or other hack filtering on the way out. As suggested you could also just ask they end user to filter the notifications.

To do more, one possibility is JEMH, which can filter outbound addressees, but more than that, also supports email only users, so that they can create issues by email but dont need an account. Notifications are then under your control, you can send a simple 'we got it, thanks' acknowledgement, and nothing more ever, or any level up to the same level as existing JIRA users.

Not exactly exclude him from receiving notifications, but have you considered filtering his e-mail to disregard e-mails from JIRA (spam filter or something like that)?
