R4J Requirement Management Plugin

I am a beginner in JIRA.

I'm using Requirement for JIRA addon for requirements management test.

However in tree view in R4J (Requirement for JIRA), the message comes as

Issue XXX is not linked to any Requirement for JIRA project. Open the issue in JIRA issue detail view?

 

How to link R4J and JIRA??

I'm having a similar problem. Just starting with R4J and the tree view is empty. The only guidance the GUI gives you is to "Use the context menu to create folders or issues". I have no idea where to start and have tried reading the documentation....
