Hi, I would like to ask if it's possible to change reporter via automation rule. I got JIRA usename in description field, i made a rule that could exctract username and put it for example to summary field, but it doesn't work when i try to add it to creator field (smart value is used).
But it cannot be used event when i add raw username in creator field rule, because it tries to whisper the user. But even when i select user from whisper, creator is not set. Logs seems correct, issue was edited, but, no change on issue itself.
Any tips?
Thx
Hi Martin,
thanks for your message. I am afraid we don't support this just yet. We are tracking it here: https://codebarrel.atlassian.net/browse/AUT-56
I have linked your ticket to it so once we do ship this change, you will be notified.
Cheers,
John
Hi John,
I've revied that ticket, but it seems it solves some different thing. I don't want to change user who "executes rule". But I would like to change reporter field of issue. It seems that this function is not working at all, nor when i use smart value to get username from another field, nor when i select user from whisper. Reporter don't change at all. Using JIRA Core 7.5.0 and latest version of Jira Automation Lite.
Thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin,
Apologies, I misread your initial question. Too close to Christmas!
So, on the 'edit screen', can you check that the reporter field is editable?
You can do this from the 'edit screen' using the config fields > 'where is my field dropdown'. In there, type in 'reporter' and see if it shows for you and the permissions are correct. Make sure this is also the same for the rule actor.
If it isn't this, could you send me a screenshot of your rule config and audit log? (If you would prefer to do this privately, just send through a support ticket here).
thanks!
John
