I have a project that is being used for QA testing. I created a rule that will add a ticket into my development project when bugs are found. However, how do I tell Automation for JIRA to update the sprint field to be whatever the Active Sprint is at the time the ticket is created? I am using a next-gen project so there should only ever be one active sprint at a time.
Hi Corey,
Unfortunately support for Next-Gen projects is a little flakey. They have introduced a lot of breaking changes and it is still quite in flux. We are tracking the problems at - https://codebarrel.atlassian.net/browse/AUT-1322
One of these is Support nextgen sprint options in sprint field picker
Sorry but I don't think this can be done at the moment.
Cheers,

Hi Nick, thank you so much for the reply. Can you confirm this is something I am able to do with a normal project? I might need to use the same automation in a project that is not next gen. Is there a formula or "smart" keyword I can enter that refers to the "current active sprint?"

Hi Corey,
Yep you can select the Active Sprint (Board name). This will set the sprint appropriately.
Cheers,
NIck
