Calculated Number Field

I am trying to add the following formula to the description. but the field doesn't even appear on the screen. i am not sure its the fault of the formula (if yes please provide the correct formula) or its with the field configurations. Formula:- Calculated Number Field = 2*(number of months)+1+16 Description:-

NOPE Not Yet, But i am trying to use this field and also trying SCRIPT RUNNER. Which one would you suggest.

I don't personally use Script Runner, though, I heard it is really good.

I use the following app to solve tasks of this kind:

If you give me an example I think I can help you construct the calculated field expression.

Example: if a customer enters a value in number field with ID1234

Then the other field with ID987 VALUE SHOULD BE CALCULATED.

 Formula :-

ID987 = 2*(ID1234)+1+16
