"CREATE SPRINT" button disabled for user, inspite of the right FILTER and permissions

"CREATE SPRINT" button is disabled for user, inspite of the correct FILTER and all project level permissions in place. What could be the reason for the same. I've read all the related posts, but did not find appropriate answer. Also, when the user hover to the button it says "Project Administrator permissions are required to add the sprint".

He's already in the administrator role for that project. Offcourse, not having admin rights for the tool itself.

Can anybody help me with the solution? Thanks in advance.

The user does not have project administrator rights in all the projects the board might cover.

Check the filter again and make sure it only includes the projects you want on the board, and then check the user is an admin in all of them

Thanks Nic for your response.

But seems like, the points mentioned by you are already covered. There's one project and only one board is created against it. For 'User3', "Create Sprint" button is disabled. (not sure about other 2 users, and no way of confirming there access rights)

Also, where can we see that how many boards are created against a project?

Check the details listed on the "Configure CAA Agile Board" page:

General

Top of Form

Board name CAA Agile Board

Administrators User1 (3064), User2 (000), User3 (O819)

Filter

Saved Filter Filter for CAA Agile Board

Sharing restricted Project: CAA Centre of Excellence (CCE)

Owner User1

Filter Query project = CCE ORDER BY Rank ASC

Ok, then I'd guess user3 does not have project admin rights, as the error says.

Nic,

As you can see from the details on the board page: CAA Agile Board

'User3' already is an Administrator for project: CAA Centre of Excellence (CCE)

This is exactly my question, that inspite of the project admin, "Create Button" is disabled for him.

Yes, user3 does not have project admin rights, as the error says.

I think you are misunderstanding the difference between board administration and project administration.  User3 has board, as you show in your data, but I doubt they have project admin.  That's in the permission scheme.

Thanks Nic for your response.

And, yes you are correct. I got confused between the 'board' & 'project' permissions.

But again, at 'Project' level, we have the below categories defined:-

Project Lead
Administrators
Component Lead
Developers
Users

So, now the user should be added against the role 'Administrator' right?

But the user in 'Administrator' category has 'Jira-Admin' rights, which we can't give to 'user3'. So, in that case in which category can I add him?

Possibly.  I can't actually tell you because we need to know who has "project administration" in the permission scheme.  Hopefully, it will be something like "Role: Administrators, and Project Lead"

what is the fix for this? I am also facing the same issue. My dev Lead has all the permissions of creating the sprint and has been given to that particular project. But still "Start Sprint" button is not enabled.
