Use Pie Chart gadget to report sprint items by client

My team of customer success managers needs visibility into which of our client's are dominating each development sprint. 

I have tried to levereage the pie chart gadget to accomplish this.

They love easy visual of the pie chart, and the ability to click a slice of the pie to view those issues in the navigator. 

However, so far i've only been able to organize this chart by assignee or reporter.

They would like to set it up organized by our clients. "Client" is a custom field for our organization's Jira and i am not able to select that as the "statistic type". 

Is there way to accomplish this visual with our custom fields as the variables?
