What does the following Jira error means in the log? Can we have performance problems becaus of them?

I have a lot error messages like that:

2012-10-17 15:30:56,917 http-xxxx-xx ERROR user name 930x7901x1 vt127k xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx /secure/CommentAssignIssue.jspa [velocity] RHS of #set statement is null. Context will not be modified. getEncodedBodyFromContent [line 3, column 1]

I have the following problem too:

2012-10-17 15:31:25,681 QuartzWorker-1 ERROR ServiceRunner com.atlassian.jira.plugin.ext.bamboo.service.PlanStatusUpdateServiceImpl:job [sal.jira.scheduling.JiraPluginSchedulerService] Unable to load a service descriptor for the job 'com.atlassian.jira.plugin.ext.bamboo.service.PlanStatusUpdateServiceImpl:job'. This is usually the result of an obsolete service that can removed in the Administration section.

My mainly problem is that sometimes I have to restart the jira beacuse it's too slow. Customers are using the system too, so it's disagreeable. I'm using groovy script runner, but I think it can't be the cause of the problem.

Have you guys any idea?

Hi György,

This sounds like a bug in JIRA, (assuming you are running JIRA 5.1), which is being tracked in this bug report: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-29045

However, it could just be that a service that you were using in a previous version of JIRA has now become obsolete, but either way you should be able to resolve the issue by following the instructions in this knowledge base article: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Unable+to+Load+a+Service+Descriptor+for+a+Job

I don't believe this is likely to be the cause of any performance problems though, so in the event that you are having problems you should check out the following document and if that doesn't help then contact Support: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/JIRA+Performance+Tuning

All the best,
John

Hi John,

First of all I'd like to say thank you for your answer.

I'm running v4.4.4#664-r167664 (but already testing 5.1 in a test enviroment). I'm checking the links you have suggested and trying to find somthing useful. I'm going to inform you as soon as I have any news.

All the best for you too,

Gyuri
