Hello,
Can Insight ingest data points from other applications, Medilon Overture AV software in this case, via an API or another solution and then send a ticket to Jira Service Desk when the data sent shows unavailability and need for service? For example we need to know the current status of a projector in our Museum if it becomes inactive and would also like to know how soon maintenance will be required. The projector is in Insight and Overture can send out it's current availability status along with hours since last maintenance. We would like the status and hours to appear in Insight, and generate a tickets to Jira Service desk when status changes and hours approach time for maintenance.
Thanks very much!!!
Hi Dawson.
Your requirement can be achieved using a combination of Insight Imports, along with Automation:
You can run a scheduled Import and update existing Assets in Insight. An Automation rule will run whenever a specific condition is met, and a Jira Issue/JSD Ticket will be created accordingly. Conditions can be: Specific Status, Attribute Value is above a Threshold, Time since last update and more.
You can define different Import Types according to your Data source (Database, CSV file, JSON file etc.) and you can also add free Insight Integration Modules - to import Assets and information from various sources like Google Cloud, AWS, SCCM and more.
On top of that, you may also be able to use Insight Discovery - which is a powerful network scanner, using Patterns (which can be customized) to retrieve information from devices connected to a Network. So, if your Projectors and other Assets are connected to a Network, and the required information can be retrieved remotely (given that you have the credentials) - Insight Discovery may be able to Scan your Network and feed it to Insight.
Insight is very flexible, and you may find different ways to achieve your requirements and more.
Let us discuss in more details on your Support Ticket you've already created ;)
Cheers
