We are unable to add Insight Object Fields to the JSD Customer Portal

We previously had Insight Object Picker (single) field on our Jira Service Desk.  We have upgraded our system to JSD 4.5.0 and upgraded to Insight 8.5.0 and they depractated the single and mutli picker fields for a single field and when we try to add our new replacement fields to the request type it says we can't add the field and there is not an option to enable this field on the right.  Does anyone know how to allow this field in JSD to be enabled?
