how to make a user picker (Single and Multi) field automatic watchers using script runner ?

I have users identified in in user picker custom fields (single & multi) within the issue: Some are during issue creation creation and others during a transition. I would like to have anyone named in any of these fields added as an automatic watcher of the issue. Is there a way to achieve that with adaptivist script runner. Please if there is, can you kindly provide the sample script. 

Basically I have a single user picker field and a multi user picker field. Am running on Jira Software v 7.4.1 / service desk v 3.6.
