Hello,
i'm pretty new to Opsgenie, so i hope this isn't a common question. I didn't find anything regarding this.
Sometimes, the owner of the machine i'm monitoring does maintenance outside of work hours. I only get informed about this half an hour before it happens. I get a mail at the start and the end of the maintenance.
Everything is done via mail integration
What i need is a possibility to disable all notifications (and voicecalls) for all alerts if this mail is send to Opsgenie. Is it possible to do one of the following solutions?
a) create an alert and close the alert from those maintenance mails. As long as this alert is active, disable all notifications for all other alerts. I would also be okay with not creating any other alerts as long as this specific alert is active
b) create a maintenance (under policies) via mail integration.
If none of this works, how would you approach this?
Thank you in advance
Hi Chaoslian!
Welcome to Opsgenie community, I am Nayan from Opsgenie support, happy to help.
I understand that you receive maintenance notifications via email (start and end), and you want to automatically suppress all Opsgenie notifications (including voice calls) for alerts during these maintenance windows, based on those emails.
Maintenance windows in Opsgenie are designed to suppress notifications and/or alert creation during scheduled times or based on rules. However, there is no direct way to trigger a maintenance window via an incoming email. Maintenance windows are typically scheduled manually or via the API, not by email integration.
You can choose the policy or integration that you'd like to enable/disable during this maintenance period so that you do not receive alert notifications during the scheduled maintenance time.
You can refer to this document regarding creating/scheduling maintenances for more information regarding the same.
I hope the above information is helpful. Please do let me know if you have any further questions/queries regarding the same.
Regards,
Nayan
