Hi all,
I would like to enable sms notification in my contact methods but when I try to run it on I receive the error "We couldn't enable this contact because it's not verified"
Can somebody explain me how to fix it?
Steps to enable SMS notifications by verifying your phone number:
1. Enter your phone number
Log in to the website or app and go to your profile.
Go to the “Phone Number” or “SMS Notification” section and enter your mobile number.
Example: +8801XXXXXXXXX
2. OTP or verification code will be sent
After entering the number, a 4 to 6 digit OTP code will be sent to your phone via SMS from the system.
Example:
Your verification code: 527384
3. Enter the received code
Enter the code on the page you are on and click list to data the “Verify” or “Submit” button.
4. After successful verification, SMS notifications will be enabled
Once the verification is successful, all future SMS notifications (new orders, login alerts, etc.) will be sent to your number.
What to do if verification is not successful:
Troubleshooting
Check if the OTP number is correct, try again.
The code appears incorrect. Check if you typed the code incorrectly. Enter it on time (the code validity is usually 2-5 minutes).
If verification fails after multiple attempts, try another number or contact the support team.
Is there a message block on your phone? Check in the settings.
If you are building a website or app and want to add an SMS verification feature, you can use Twilio, Nexmo, or Firebase Authentication.

I had the same issue when trying to enable SMS notifications, and it was super frustrating to see that "not verified" message pop up. I spent a good chunk of time trying to figure out what was wrong. Eventually, I switched to using a non voip number for sms verification through Tardigrada. I had heard good things about them, and they really came through. After making the switch, everything went through without any more errors, and I was finally able to get my SMS notifications working. It’s funny because I thought I’d be stuck for ages, but Tardigrada made it really easy.

Hi @Gianluca Crivelli ,
When you add a new phone number in Opsgenie it will send a verification code to that number. You will need to plug that code in to verify the phone number before it can be used. If you didn't get the code you can resend it or remove the phone number and try adding it again.
