Suppress opsgenie alerts when patch manager runs for each client

Hello team!

We're different polices which we're receiving alerts from AWS cloudwatch service. Those policies are getting information from AWS cloudwatch and Opsgenie creating alerts if AWSRoute53 health check is down.

Our AWS instances are restarting some periods depending on making critical updates on the system. We're using the Maintenance Windows service to do it.

Now working on https://support.atlassian.com/opsgenie/docs/create-and-manage-maintenance-policies/ process and I'm wondering if we can automate this. As documentation says this is we can add maintenance for some period of time for avoiding creating alarm from source (for our case source is AWS cloudwatch). 

So to summarize this question, Is there any way to do Opsgenie going or moving some policies about which we've selected to maintenance mode without adding them by one by to the Planned mode at Opsgenie. Is Opsgenie can create planned maintenance automatically if the AWS instance restarted because of an instance doing upgrading staff?

Hey Burak,

A suggested workaround for your use case would be to create a Lambda function in your AWS which triggers the Opsgenie Maintenance API: https://docs.opsgenie.com/docs/maintenance-api and creates a Maintenance Policy in your Opsgenie for whenever your AWS instance is restarted.

Since this is not an outright Opsgenie feature and a custom implementation, I would suggest reaching out to one of our Partners via: https://partnerdirectory.atlassian.com/ for help implementing this if you need any assistance.
