Can I connect AD and only enable some into Atlassian products? And as customers in JSM?

Alex.lock August 15, 2023

So if we were to utilise Access and fully link up our database, can we do the following:

  • Import all users but only enable a certain block of the users (with a view to add others later)
  • Set users as Customers only to JSM as we're an internal facing team

If so, how may I do this?

NB: We've not done a full trial and they won't let me press the big green button to trial it until they're happy they do these two things. It seems so but I've not seen something specific enough to say "yeah, import AD and then set permissions for X users to be customers"

Hi Alex!

Atlassian Access is billed for all Atlassian users under your claimed domains. However, you can create a non-billable policy to avoid getting billed for a certain group of users. Learn more by reading this page: Manage your bill for Atlassian Access.

Your internal customers/employees don't really need to have an Atlassian Access subscription to log a ticket, but they will be counted as billable users if they are under your claimed domain.
