Seems like you are addressing only some of the issues such as board switch, but the big issue that is being repeated here is not addressed:
The new layout of the card is wrong in terms of UI: You made it so that the width of the Description and Attachments takes up about 2/3 of the available space, whereas the width of the Comments and Activity takes up about 1/3 of the available space. The problem is that you made this as a fixed width, with the above proportions pre-determined.
This was wrong to do in terms of UI because it assumes that it is more important to have both the Description and the Comments visible together at the same time. This is a valid idea but what happens is that users in 90% of the time need to write or read one of them and not both at the same time, so the area available for each of these becomes much smaller.
For example, for me, as I saw may others write the same above, I usually write the main thing in the Description, and sometimes (usually not) also attach something, and then I keep adding Comments whenever an update is needed, so that I used to have 100% of the space available for writing the Comments and now I have just 1/3 of the space, while I am forced to look at the huge space on the left just to see them the original old text and attachment that didnt change since I created the card.
Can you agree this is terrible UI?
Please, continue to listen to your users and either revert back or give the option to do so as everyone here asks.
The new layout is incredibly difficult to navigate. Tasks that use to take one click now require three, making the platform far less effficient. At this point, it feels like more work just to do the same things we used to do easily.
Additionnally, I followed the instructions in the support article to pin boards on the left, but the option simply isn't there. Honestly, the previous layout was much more user-friendly. I frequently switch between boards, and this update had made that process frustrating and time-consuming. For my workflow, the platform has become nearly unsuable. Please take use feedback into serious consideration.
Do not like the current layout. Please let us revert to the old layout.
Also, the links are not working properly now. I have multiple links in a card that allows people to click to go directly to another card on another board but now the card flashes up 1 second and instead goes to the board. Please fix it. Thank you.
How do I revert my cards back to the old format? I hate this double-scrolling version you just put out its so annoying and everything is so tiny to read:
Please tell me there is a way I can go back I just want my information and comments in one scrollable list, this new design is terrible
When are we going to have the ability to pin the board switcher? I don't have the three dots button and there is no way for me to go back and forth easily. This seems so silly.
Hi, I agree with the users who would like the option to revert back to the view prior to roll out and also need/prefer to see comments at the bottom and a smaller font size to see more of the card. For users with smaller laptop screens who put a lot of detail and planning within the card, it is helpful to see more of the card itself - where in our case processes steps and long timelines are created. The new roll out cuts out so much of what we need to see visually to be effective and move quickly through a card. Thank you!
Re: your video - I don't have the "..." to allow me to pin everything to the left. I'm in Safari and my navigation options do not look like your video or give me the same options.
This new layout is awful. I don't want a little pop-up floaty thing, I want the simple one-click options and visibility to see everything I had before. PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK and stop fixing things that aren't broke.
I just got the new layout today and so far, I'm not a fan. I want the comments and activity back below the description. I also want the floating options to be back up on the top taskbar. The very blurred background really bothers my eyes.
Please don't make all changes mandatory for everyone. Not everyone wants or needs the same set up. Please give us more options so that everyone can personalize their Trello to better fit their own specific needs.
Sadly, the new version has just appeared, without notice, on my computer. I'm crazed. Please provide an update since the post on June 26th, that the ability to revert is forthcoming, SOON.
As others have commented, Atlassian provided an example video of how to revert our Boards back to being pinned on the left - but Users don't have the elements to do it. What is Happening?
Sorry, but the new version is truly terrible. I don't need to see my "actions." It's one of the features I NEVER use, but I can't close the pane. And what I cannot see is everything useful--my automations, the full menus. Why has the view been redesigned this way? Who wanted this? Everything was fine as it was. New is not always better. And before responding "oh, follow these labyrinthine steps to fix it," please consider that I shouldn't have to. It is a huge waste of my time.
@kmcclivereed if you haven't read through the thread, on June 26th, Atlassian has stated they will provide a way to revert to the old view, 'in a few weeks'. Their own development team stated they're evolving Trello into an entirely different product, which I am speechless about. Hopefully a few weeks is a worst case scenario - Best of luck navigating until then!
@jenn , oh, thank goodness. I am totally hamstrung. I cannot use my card automations, add checklists, share cards, archive/delete cards because the whole right-hand panel on the card is missing/covered by the "actions" panel . . . this is destroying my ability to work. I'm not sure I can wait a few weeks. I may have to look for another product. How can they have rolled out such a flawed product? Surely the inability to see most of the features anymore came up in testing?? And a whole new product? We're all here because we like this one!
@kmcclivereed Atlassian's initial answer was to go to another of their products, while they 'evolve' this one to something else. We are in the throws of our Busy Season and relearning how to navigate this new look today, on payroll processing day, on the eve of a holiday - s.p.e.e.c.h.l.e.s.s.
It doesn't suit me to not be able to see the Description as continuous text. Not being able to see comments as a neat scroll is also an epic fail. This is bad UX. Why add extra steps - or make any changes at all - when everything was working just fine as it was?
Two steps back one step forward is not the correct way, it should be the other way around. The redesign is horrible and this is just fix for ONE of the problems that were not there before. Also it seems it's not rolled out ofr everyone, because I can't see that option.
If you're taking feedback... The edit screen is too small on my Mac and there's no way to drag it to make it larger. I use a Mac desktop primarily for Trello. Before this "improvement" the edit screen took up a big part of my monitor. Now when I go to edit the description (my notes) its contained in a much smaller window so I can only see a few lines at a time while I edit. There's no "full screen" option. I can't drag the corners to make it larger - it's too small.
Adding another voice here - HORRIBLE new UI. Your team really failed at this one. Adding more buttons and layout options makes things HARDER not easier. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID, just like trello was before. "Planners" and "inboxes"? Why do I need that when the point of trello is to have LISTS and CARD. Please provide a method to revert ASAP.
