Custom fields don't behave when tabbing

Casey Taylor June 3, 2020

Using chrome and safari, it seems there is a bug with custom fields.

When you try and tab through them or click in the fields and begin to type, they often "pop" the cursor out, and when you start typing a number you start typing the shortcuts to add labels because the field isn't selected.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi Casey,

What type of Custom Field are you working with? Tab support isn't quite there with non-text entry fields, like dropdowns, but for text entry fields, my tests just now do work as intended. If you're seeing something different, please do drop us a line at https://trello.com/contact and we'll be glad to take a closer look!

Mike, just sent over a request to the contact support page. I have a screen record of the issue, if someone could let me know the best way to get it over to you all that would be great.

Mike,

Did anything come out of this investigation?

We are also having a problem with tabbing.  The tabbing works as expected when you are not entering values.  But the problem occurs when you enter some value into the text box.  After entering a value, the tab loses focus and you are unable to tab to the next text box.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Select any custom field (other than the first one)

2. type some value

3. Press tab and note that it doesn't move to the next field

4. Pressing tab again causes it to move back to the first field

I haven't found any way to work around this other than clicking with the mouse or tabbing back to next text box.
