I have a meal-planning board, and lots of recipe cards. Each week when I want to "reset" the board to do meal-planning for the upcoming week, I have to manually move cards back to the various lists like "veggie meals", "meaty meals", "carbs" etc. I want to automate this based on the labels on the cards, but there's no way to do this.
In the automation interface, once you add one action which is to send cards back to a particular list based on their labels, you cannot add any more. Trello shows this error: "Can't perform addition actions after a batch card copy/move." This means I'd have to create a unique board button for each type of list, which is a bit silly.
I get that cards can have lots of labels, so if a card has both the veggie and meat labels, it would get sent back to whichever list appears first in the set of actions, within the board button automation setup. Not sure why this limitation is in place. Anyone have any suggested workarounds?
It might be better that you have a “Meal Selection” board where you label the cards you want for each category of meals and have an automation to copy the card to “This week” board. Once the cards are copied you can remove all the labels on the “Meal Selection” board. You should be able to archive al meal cards at the end of each week.
I appreciate your suggestion but this sounds like a workaround versus a valid solution. Trello has a limited number of boards for free accounts and having a separate board just for the handful of recipe cards for the current week is not ideal.

.My suggestion only requires two boards. The "Meal Selection" board has many list for you to build your meals and these are sent to you "This Week" board. I used this in a workshop use case where are are many services packages of different kind and these are associated with each vehicle when there are sent to the workshop for repairs and servicing. Although you are using Free plans you have unlimited workspace. The real constraint is that you are limited to 250 automation for a workspace

The point remains that having an entire board for one list with maybe 20 cards is still superfluous. It also would complicate the template that I built to help people with meal planning, and just adds unnecessary complexity.
And sorry you are incorrect, the free plan only includes 10 boards per Workspace. https://trello.com/en/pricing

I am aware of the free plan in terms of boards per workspace.
Managing multiple workspace can be challenging.
