It encourages people to copy/paste responses that don't answer questions as long as it's vaguely in the ball park to inflate their counts resulting in worthless notifications about answers and noise to walk through.
Totally agree with this the pressure to rack up answer counts really affects quality. Sometimes it feels like quantity is rewarded over actually helping. Having a "not an answer" option would make it much easier to filter out noise.
@Nick Hustak I would encourage you to review the community Rules of engagement and the voice and tone guide to better understand how this community is structured and works. The behavior that you point out is certainly not in line with community standards, and you should feel free to report any violations of the community spirit to the moderators.
