If the parent issue changes to a specific field status value, how do I set it up when I want to automatically create a sub issue and connect it to the parent issue?

Hi Benny and welcome to the community!

This seems pretty straightforward, so let me see if I got your question correctly. You want a subtask to be created when a parent issue reaches a certain status. The subtask needs to be linked to the parent?

In that case you would need an automation like this:

  • Trigger on issue transition (From, To or just To a status)
  • Create Sub-task action providing the correct fields

Example:

I was a little lacking in explanation.
First of all, there is a top issue, and the bottom issue is a situation that we have created now.

For example, if there is a top sales issue, if it changes to a contract completion status, the sub-issue called onboarding should be made with the same name as the top issue, and when you press the top issue, it should be automatically listed as a sub-issue.
