Any Plans for Advanced Automation in Jira Work Management?

Hi Atlassian Team and Community,

 I really appreciate the simplicity of Jira Work Management for business teams. However, I was wondering if there are any plans to introduce more advanced automation features similar to Jira Software's automation rules.

Right now, the automation in Jira Work Management seems somewhat limited compared to what's available in Jira Software and Jira Service Management. Features like multi-step automation, conditional branching, and integration with third-party tools would be really helpful for streamlining workflows.

Are there any upcoming enhancements or workarounds to bring more robust automation capabilities to Jira Work Management? Would love to hear any insights from the team or other users!

Those same automation rules are available already for JWM/Business projects. Also, I would encourage you to create Company-managed business projects and not Team-managed projects.

Hi Ajaz,

JWM is being absorbed back into Jira Software and the result is called "Jira". Atlassian is migrating JWM licenses to Jira over time, so, as John said, this won't be a problem going forward.

Is there a way to convert Team-managed projects to Company-managed projects without recreating them entirely?

Hi Rachel, 

No, you must create a new Company-managed project - there is no conversion. But you can then migrate the existing issues in the TMP to the CMP project, so you don't have to re-create those.
