Confluence: Create new page and move children

Ian MacDonald

Hello, I am trying to setup an automation in confluence that will trigger manually. This automation will be used on the following page structure:

  1. Parent 1
    1. Child 1
    2. Child 2
    3. etc.
  2. Parent 2
    1. Child 1
    2. Child 2
    3. etc

My goal is to have the automation trigger from the parent page, create a new child page underneath and then move all the prior children to be children of the newly created page.

Any advice, tips, guides are greatly appreciated!

Hi @Ian MacDonald

At this time, the Edit Page action does not support changing the parent.

One possible workaround is use the Send Web Request action to call the Update Page endpoint to change the parent.  Here are some references if you want to try this approach:

Kind regards,
Bill
