Need to do this: Split a story and move unresolved children

So, here's what I want to so...

I have a story with resolved and unresolved children.  I want to split the story and move the unresolved children to the new story that has the 'split from' link.

Not sure how to start this.  I'm guessing it might be from issue created cause that it the beginning of the flow?

Hi @Joe ,
this also is pretty vague, but maybe it helps:

• Trigger: "Issue Created"
• Condition: JQL → issueLinkType = "Split From"
• Branch: "Linked Issues" (Split From)
  • Branch: "Child Issues"
    • Condition: "Resolution is EMPTY"
    • Action: Edit Issue → Change Parent to "Trigger Issue" (which is the new split story).

I appreciate the reply.  I think I just need some guidance on order of operations right now.  Even a straw-man guide would be helpful.

Here is what I have and where I think I need to go...

• when issue is created
• check for link type of issueLinkType in ("Split From")
  • Here's where it gets fuzzy
• Reach back and check issue that was source of split
• Check the children
• if any child is unresolved, edit that child and change parent to associated split story
