With the relatively new Version Created/Updated/Released/Unreleased triggers that have been added to Automation For Jira, I was hoping to find a way to use these to help maintain versions across multiple projects.
However, I can't quite seem to see a way to have the "Create Version" trigger go and create a version in a different project. It can create within the same project, but not across projects as far as I can tell.
Has anyone been able to use this to automate version maintenance between multiple projects?
Hi @Sean Collins,
Yes, you can! Just tested it:
You will need to change the Project value, by default it's set to "Current Project".
I hope that this helps.
Thanks,
Moga
Thank you Moga! I see my problem - I had it scoped to one project. I was worried about it looping and picking up the versions being created by the rule, but it looks like it's okay.
Thanks again!

Moga - quick follow up. Are you aware of any way to set the description and start date as well? It looks like we can only impact the name and release date.
Thanks again!

Heya @Sean Collins,
From the Automation action, I can only see the Version name, Release date field, and Project. It looks like that is all what we can configure for the Automation action.
