I have a use case if the assignee is updated. It will update a custom field to a specific value. However, the automation that I have created does not fail or update the value.
Note: I have a similar automation that has the assign and value set on creation and it works with no issues.
There is a specific trigger to detect when an issue is assigned: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-automation-triggers/#Issue-assigned
Please try using that one instead of Issue Updated.
