Disable access request notification for one user in a space

Hi all, i have a question regarding permissions in a specific space. One user is receiving approve access notification for a page tree, and he wants to be excluded from receiving them. he is listed as space admin in that space, and also has additional permissions on the lock down page tree - viewing and editing. 

If i remove edit permissions to this page tree, he will probably not get any access requests, and I also want to make sure he will not get access requests on any other page tree for the space he is listed as admin. if I remove him from space admin, can I accomplish that ?Let me know your thoughts
