Hello im looking for some help or guidance, i have configured an application link xxx.atlassian.net/plugins/servlet/applinks/listApplicationLinks and connected a separate Confluence site. This is connected and showing as green.
I expected to be able to now link a Service Desk Project Knowledge base to this linked application and its subsequent spaces, is this possible? is there any specific new permissions i must add?
Hi Lewis,
I understand that you are looking to integrate a Jira Service Desk with a Confluence knowledgebase, where Service Desk and Confluence are located on different Atlassian Cloud sites. You can create an application link between these sites, but unfortunately, this knowledge base integration feature is not able to work in those scenarios.
You can see our documentation Link a Confluence space to your service desk
You can link a space to a service desk project if Confluence and Jira Service Desk have the same Atlassian Cloud domain name.
I have not found any other feature requests for this yet, so I created a new one that I believe would encompass this scenario in JSDCLOUD-8335. I don't know if this would ever be implemented in the product itself. This specific feature also has the expectation that both applications would have a shared userbase. That is much easier to achieve when running both Cloud applications on the same site.
Right now the only way to do this in Atlassian Cloud is to have these two on the same site.
I hope this helps.
Andy
Thanks, the use case was an external service desk customers being able to self manage their own confluence site which would then appear in the knowledge base searching feature of the portal. If I could synchronise two cloud spaces in different sites that would also solve the challenge.
