We currently use the server versions of both products and want to move to the cloud versions. If we do, can confluence cloud be used as a customer help guide. Also looking for information on how to customise confluence cloud so it looks like a customer facing help guide rather than an internal collaboration tool (e.g. https://confluence.atlassian.com/alldoc/atlassian-documentation-32243719.html).
Can anyone advise if they do this please?
Audrey
Hi, Audrey,
The link you posted is from a Server instance using Scroll Viewport plugin, which is not available for Cloud.
But let's go to the good part: Yes, Confluence Cloud can be used as a customer help guide: you can use it as the knowledge base for your Cloud Jira Service Desk, and you can configure it to be accessible only to users with licences or to all users, enabling anonymous access.
You won't be able to customise Confluence Cloud to look like a customer facing help guide like Jira Service Desk rather than an internal collaboration tool, but it is possible to change some parts of the layout following the steps shown on the articles below:
- Changing the Look and Feel of Confluence https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/changing-the-look-and-feel-of-confluence-724765494.html
- Customize your Space https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/customize-your-space-724764768.html
Hope we could clarify all your questions.
Hi Thais,
Thank you for your reply. If we built a space specifically for a customer helpguide and customised this would customers still be able to view information such as last change and who made them or could we hide this information?
Many thanks
Audrey
